The 2011 DSM Shootout was the first time in 2011 that the Talon made a pass. The result?

I rolled the Talon out of the garage on June 6th, 2009, and cleaned the dust off it. Afterwards, I made my way to Mid Michigan Motorplex. One pass was made before rain came, but I’m happy with the results:
As of August 17th, 2008, the Talon has made about 10 full power passes. Still working on tuning the car, I’ve managed a best pass of 9.86. This was during Round 2 of the Quick 16 competition at the 2008 DSM Shootout. Here’s a video:
This is a new personal best, and a new best for the car. 9.86@138mph. This is running about 21psi of boost, with some creep up into the upper 20’s at the end of each gear.

Dyno Chart

The Talon made 426whp (corrected) on May 31st, 2008 at DeWitt Service Center in DeWitt, Michigan. This pull was made with very conservative timing, and 21psi of boost (the lowest I can set the wastegate.) Unfortunately, this wasn’t a complete pull on the car; I ended the pull around 6300rpm.

Future Performance

The chassis of the Talon was designed to run an 8.50 in the 1/4 mile, at around 150mph. With the current GT4294 turbocharger and gasoline, I’m shooting for 850bhp. This should be enough power to propel the car to the ET and MPH that I’m trying to attain.

I’m not stopping until I get some 8.50’s with the car :-)
